Coffey Family March 2010 Prayer Letter

Monday, March 29th, 2010

We are currently in Minneapolis, MN, and Lord has blessed with several meetings in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota.  I was able to bring the whole family on this trip despite Amy not feeling very well with the baby on the way.  I praise the Lord she hasn’t gotten sick one time since we left.   Here are some updates about what is going on in our ministry.
Men
This has been a wild month for our missionaries in Morocco.  We have three missionaries (1 single and 1 couple) from Peru there right now with one more couple hopefully arriving at the end of this year.  Over 40 missionaries have been kicked out or are going to be kicked out of the country.  We do praise God that none of our men have been kicked out yet.  Please be praying.  I just found out today the police may be closing in on our group.

I do want you to be praying for one of the Peruvian family, Renzo Zuniga and his wife Angela.  They are missionaries raising support to work in Morocco with our team that is already on the field.  We would like to see them land soon so they can begin learning the language and begin ministering to the Muslims.  The work is great there in North Africa, but we know the Lord can use our small team to do a big work.  My goal is to help him raise $500 of monthly support.  If you are interested in helping please let me know.

New Projects
Please be praying for some of our endeavors.  Along with getting national missionaries to the field, we are in the process of helping veteran missionaries build a media and material presence in their country.

We are planning now to start offices in major areas of the world where there is little outreach to large people groups.  With the help of the missionary on the field we want to hire one of his faithful men to help produce media and materials in their language.  Amy and I will be heading up each of these projects until the Lord provides us with representatives for the areas we are targeting.

The four languages we are starting in, Lord willing, will be Arabic- Morocco, More- Burkina Faso, Indonesian- Indonesia, and Xhosa- South Africa.

Media
We have already started a web page in Indonesian.  We plan to do the same in each of these languages.  We are also finding out what it would take to get on the radio in those countries as well.  We have seen mass media make a huge impact in Peru and we know the Lord can use it in other countries as well.

Materials
We also want to translate books and materials in those languages that we believe will be helpful to the national pastors.  If we can better train the nationals we can quickly multiply the number of churches on the field.

We believe on the average it will cost $1000 per language in order to set up these offices and hire the men necessary to complete the jobs.
Please be praying for this ministry.  We want to follow the Lord’s direction to do all we can to get the Gospel message to the world.
Here to serve,
Mark, Amy, Emilee, and Luke Coffey

I would encourage each of you to get involved with the relief efforts for Concepcion, Chile. A massive 8.8 earthquake destroyed thousands of homes, buildings, and has injured/killed many people. The link below is Missionary Jason Holt’s blog, and will allow you to get involved right now! Don’t miss an opportunity to be a blessing to the people of Concepcion!

Miguel Murillo’s Prayer Letter

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

It is a privilege to be able to address you, to thank you for your prayers, knowing about your love towards the work for God.

Last month God blessed us with a lot of visitors in both churches Smyrna and Hunter. At Smyrna we had a special day on Sunday Feb. 14th in the morning for we had the Wedding Vows Renovation. We had 199 people, including 23 guests. At Hunter that same day we had 190 people attending at night. There were almost 40 couples in whole, the ones who renewed their Wedding Vows between Smyrna and Hunter Churches.

At Hunter we had the Summer Biblical School every Sunday, having close to 100 kids each week, we also had lots of visitors and many decisions towards salvation. I thank Pastor Miguel Mego for all his work, together with the teachers of the Sunday school.

Form the 8th to the 12th of February we had a youth camp at Ite, closet o the port of Ilo, 80 people attended, between Hunter and Smyrna Churches. There went two of our youngster’s Pastors: Alfredo Pari (Hunter) and Alan Chujutalli (Smyrna). They did a great job!

At mid February one of our College students (Richard Quecara) from Hunter came back from the capital Lima, who was helping a church in Surquillo. Lima. He needs to go throw many medical examinations. We ask for your prayers for his health.

On February 15th, a group of six people between students and former students of our college, including Alfredo Pari, Elio Hilares and Shirley Chavez, from Hunter Church .left to La Paz – Bolivia. They were a blessing those two weeks there, because Alfredo preached in many churches and Shirley helped teaching children, many of them accepted Jesus as their Savior.

On Friday, February 19th and Saturday 20th we had a retreat in Camana beach for the youngsters at Smyrna, where 27 of us attended. I was able to share with them some topics regarding team work and the difference between the children of the light and the children of the darkness besides, having a great time together.

On Sunday 28th we had our first service in the new church Berea, where a total of 22 attended . The services there will be at 3:00 pm, and in between the week on Tuesdays, at 7:00 pm.

We ask for your prayers for our plans for March:
- Official start of classes at our Christian School, March 1st.
- Classes for Pastor son March 2nd and 3rd, at our College
- Start of classes at the institute and College, on Monday March 15th and Tuesday 16th respectively.
- At Hunter we will talk about a” Contagious Church: The Thrill of sharing The Gospel”.
- At Smyrna we will talk about “Family over the Rock: Can I have a good family?”
- Our trip to Ayacucho, to preach at Baptist Church Libertad, from March 9th to March 11th.

I would also like to ask for your prayers for the mother of our co-pastor of Hunter, Brother Luis Navarro. She was detected Cancer at the cervical vertebrates and has started her treatment of radio-therapy. Please help us with a prayer for his family as well.

I thank God for the loyalty of each one of you. May God bless you and keep you well.
