I have a good friend who is a church planter in China. He and his wife received news that they may be in trouble. A lady that doesn’t like Americans who change their culture found out about his church. She is expected to attend their church and attempt to persuade people not to attend anymore.
My friends are not really worried about that. The thing that worries them the most is the thought that the lady will turn them in to the police. You can go to this link for more information.
Psalm 7:17 I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.
My prayer today is that I keep my eyes on God because of who He is not because of what He does for me. I think most times I want to thank Him and praise Him because of what He does for me, and the problem is He is always doing things for me. It’s hard not to praise Him for the wrong reasons. It’s hard not to be selfish. He is so good to me, but today I want to praise Him for who He is. I want to praise Him because He is a holy and righteous God. I want to praise Him because He is loving and just. Whether He takes everything away from me or makes me the wealthiest man in the world, I want to praise Him because of Who He is.
Thank You God for being my God.
Vision Baptist Church of Alpharetta will be hosting a winter retreat from December 31-January 2 in Pigeon Forge TN.
The Our Generation Summit is an annual gathering of Christians with a heart for world missions. Pastors and missionaries, teachers and students, businessmen and families join for three days to learn how to better fulfill their role in reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“With His work of redemption complete, Jesus had one final message to His followers before His acension: All authority is mine. My last command to my church is that you go to the ends of the earth and preach the Gospel” says Austin Gardner, veteran missionary and pastor of Vision, “People often wonder what is the point of a church. This is it.”
Speakers at the event will include pastors and missionaries from around the world, who will be teaching classes on subjects such as media in missions, cultural adaptation, history of missions, and many more.
Located once again at the beautiful Music Road Hotel in the center of action-packed Pigeon Forge, the OG Summit provides a fantastic venue for any church or youth group seeking an easy-to-organize winter retreat filled with excitement and passion for Christ.
Discounts are available for early and group registration. For more information, visit www.ogsummit.info, or call (770) 456-5881.
I had a great time traveling to Augusta, GA on Wednesday night and then to Columbia, SC on Sunday night.
On Wednesday night I was at Trinity Baptist Church in Augusta-Martinez, GA. Missionary Ronald Tubillas was able to travel with me and shared his testimony with the church people before I preached. It was great getting to meet Pastor Stevens and the folks at Trinity.
This past Sunday my family was able to travel with me to New Life Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. Unfortunately Pastor Hamilton had car problems while he was in Maryland for a trip and wasn’t able to make it back to the service. I hate we were not able to see him but we did have a great time at the church. It was amazing to see how the Lord is working in their church. It was only started around 7 years ago.
